Tamara Sternod, LIS Past President, receives Helen R. Walton Excellence in Community Leadership Award

Yesterday, I had the honor of surprising Tamara Sternod from Club 4768 as this year's recipient of the Helen R. Walton Excellence in Community Leadership Award.
She was genuinely surprised. The look on her face when we announced her name was priceless. Pure shock, gratitude, and humility all at once.
This award recognizes associates who live out Helen Walton's belief that, "It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived." Tamara is a perfect example of that spirit in action.
Through her work with Lions Club and Lions In Sight, she's helped bring the gift of sight to people around the world. But what impressed me most is that her commitment to serving others isn't limited to one organization or one effort.
She shows up for her community, volunteers her time, supports causes she believes in, and consistently looks for ways to make a difference in the lives of others.
Tamara leads with humility, heart, and service. She represents the very best of Sam's Club, I couldn't be happier to celebrate her.
