Iloilo, Phillipines 2/25

Writer: Lions In SightLions In Sight

Over the week of 16 to 22 February 2025, one of the larger teams sent out from Lions in Sight screened, referred and gave glasses to just over 5,000 patients in four days of clinics.  Twenty-seven members, including twelve doctors, congregated upon the city of Iloilo on the island of Panay in the middle of the Philippine Islands.  A broad mix of Lions Clubs in the district of Iloilo – the district encompasses most of the eastern and southern sections of Panay – and across the Guimaras Strait in the sugar rich district of Negros Occidental hosted the clinic days.  LIS participants came from all across the United States with a contingent of four joining in from northern Mexico as well.  All in all, a true international affair demonstrating the power of Lionism around the World bringing restoration of sight through the task of matching eyeglasses to patient.
